Neotropix believes that it’s leading candidate, NTX-010,
will be effective in
producing survival benefit in patients with cancers
possessing
neuroendocrine features, such as small cell lung cancer. In
addition to pursuing its lead
product for SCLC, the Company will seek to create a pipeline
of
therapeutic candidates and to develop a product franchise. The goal will be
to have a new IND
filed every 18-24 months so that at the time of NTX-010 approval
there are multiple
drugs in the clinic focused on solid tumor cancers.
Neotropix has identified numerous sources of previously uncharacterized
viruses that, until now, have not been tested for key oncolytic properties.
The Company
will continue to add to its pipeline by screening these unique untapped
resources with its proprietary ViruScreen process. Because the ViruScreen
process is maintained
as a trade secret the Company does not disclose its process used to identify
viruses that would be good drug candidates. Recent screens resulted in
the identification of 19 research candidates that replicate in one or
more cancer indications and
that are likely to have other key factors for commercial success. Neotropix
believes that viruses such as these are a rich source of potential therapeutics
and associated
technologies.
