Dennis L. Panicali, Ph.D., founded Therion Biologics in 1991 and served
as President and CEO for 12 years. In 2002 he assumed the position
of Chief Scientific Officer, directing the scientific advancement and
expansion of Therion's product pipeline. From 1986 to 1991, Dr. Panicali
was Vice President of Product Development at Applied BioTechnology,
Inc.(AbT). Dr. Panicali pioneered the development of pox virus vectors
for use in immune therapies and cancer research at the New York State
Department of Health Centers for Laboratories and Research. Dr. Panicali
holds a B.A. in Microbiology from the University of Connecticut and
a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from the Medical College of Georgia.
